4 Quick Tips to Revive Meetings & Reclaim Your Time
Poorly-run meetings are costing you time, focus, and morale.
But it doesn’t have to be this way!
Workplace meetings should drive progress. Yet research (and real-world experience) shows they’re often anything but productive.
According to Harvard Business Review:
- 50% of meetings are deemed unproductive.
- 73% of people multitask while “attending” meetings.
- 75% of professionals have never been trained on how to run a meeting effectively.
No wonder meetings often fall flat and drain morale. Here’s the kicker: satisfaction with meetings strongly influences how satisfied we feel at work overall!
Below are four quick tips from my Mastering Meetings training:
1/ Ask if the meeting is necessary. Could the same information be shared in a well-written email or a dashboard? (Check out this LinkedIn post for more.)
2/ Cut meeting times. Update your default calendar settings to shorten meetings and save everyone time.
3/ Prepare a timed agenda—and stick to it.
(Reply to this email if you’d like a PDF of my recommended agenda structure!)
4/ Ditch multitasking. Encourage participants to give their full attention.

Let’s make 2025 the year for meetings that drive results, boost morale and free up time for meaningful work.
All my best,
Wendy
